KCOM Community

Supporting schools

We want to inspire the next generation and help young people reach their full potential by giving them the skills and confidence to excel in a digital world.

We work with schools and colleges across Hull and East Yorkshire to spark enthusiasm for careers in technology and engineering and help children and young people prepare for the world of work.

"The support we receive from Brendon and the team at KCOM is invaluable. They can always be relied upon to support our schools with mock interviews, careers fairs, and activity days."

"It’s fantastic that KCOM is going out to schools with events like this and helping to tell children about keeping safe online in a fun and engaging way. It really helps to reinforce what the teachers are doing and encourages children to think in a different way about issues such as cyberbullying – and that there are people they can turn to for support if they’re worried about anything."

    Support with STEM subjects

As a technology and engineering company we want to inspire young people who are considering careers in these fields and support their learning as they prepare for the world of work. To improve the diversity of our own workforce we’re especially keen to encourage girls to think about jobs in tech and engineering.

As well as careers talks that give students an insight into IT and engineering roles, we can also offer behind-the-scenes workplace visits and support with school-led STEM projects and activities.

"It’s been really good to see the kids so engaged and having a good time today. Subjects like internet safety can be a really dry topic but the activities that KCOM brought in helped to make it entertaining and bring it to life."
