KCOM's K6 cream telephone boxes make Hull city centre return
KCOM's cream K6 phone boxes have made a comeback as part of the Hull city-centre public realm works.
Hull city centre is rich with history and heritage.
It’s also an ideal place for a wander with the kids to explore the city’s past through its magnificent architecture.
And, unlike any other city in the UK, Hull has cream phone boxes; symbols of its proud and independent history.
Now, with the City of Culture year in full swing, KCOM is launching a tour around its classic cream K6 phone kiosks which will take you through the heart of Hull city centre and Old Town.
Along the way you will find out where King Henry VIII once went bowling, discover which main city centre thoroughfare was originally going to be called Quality Street and learn more about the grand Victorian buildings – and who lived in them.
The walk should take no more than 90 minutes, although there are plenty of places to stop for refreshments along the way, and is an ideal way to experience the 2017 UK City of Culture.
And if you take the trail with the family this Easter holiday you have a chance to win some City Of Culture goodies. Just collect 12 letters hidden in our phone boxes to make a name of a famous figure from K6 history and you are in with a chance of scooping a prize.
