In 1971 local historian Dr Alec Gill MBE began photographing thousands of people from Hessle Road’s fishing community.
Now, almost half a century later, some of these black and white images are on display at the Hull History Centre until 29 June.
We tagged along as Dr Gill added to his Hessle Road photo collection and met some of the people featured in his snaps.
