KCOM tastes success at BITC awards

1

KCOM was one of the winners at the recent Business in the Community Yorkshire and Humber Responsible Business Gala Dinner held in Leeds.

On an evening where businesses were recognised for their contribution to their local communities, KCOM was crowned as the winner of the ‘Powered by Volunteering’ film competition.

The remit of the competition was to create a 90-second film to demonstrate and celebrate the hard work, impact and dedication of employee volunteers.

KCOM’s entry, created with local company Nova Studios, came out on top and Brendon Smurthwaite, Community Coordinator, said:

“Our community programme is heavily dependent on employee volunteers and demonstrating the great work they do with schools, charities and community groups in 90 seconds was a tough task.

“The end product is something that everybody involved is really proud of and it’s great to have won the award.”
