KCOM recently joined a number of local and national businesses in supporting the annual ‘Industry Day’ at Keyingham Primary School.

Pupils across the school had an enjoyable day taking part in activities and finding out about different careers.

Two of KCOM’s engineering operations team were on hand to give the children an overview of a typical telecommunications network involving the use of testing equipment.

They also gave an insight into ‘a day in the life’ of a KCOM Customer Service Technician, with the children having an opportunity to get dressed for work in a hard hat, high-visibility vest and safety harness.

Brendon Smurthwaite, KCOM Community Coordinator, commented:

“The Industry Day is an event we support every year and the feedback we receive from the school is that the children really enjoy our activity.

“It’s educational and fun at the same time and we’re already looking forward to taking part in next year’s event.”
