4

Finalists for the 2018 Digital Awards have been revealed, in a year which has seen a record 112 high quality entries.

A panel of judges, including KCOM’s director of business Alan Worthing, had the difficult task of examining entries, before selecting three finalists for each category.

Competition this year was higher than ever, as Hull continues to cement its place as one of the UK’s leading digital hotbeds.

David Keel, Hull’s Digital Ambassador, said: “The amount of entries the awards has received this year is staggering.

“The standard this year has been incredibly high. We have got businesses which have won numerous awards in the past not even make the shortlist this year.

“The judges were impressed with the number of young people shining out in the digital industry. Hull is a very exciting place to be at the moment if you are a digital business.”

KCOM’s Alan Worthing, said: “The bar just keeps being raised higher and higher for the Digital Awards and the standard this year has been phenomenal.

“It has been incredibly difficult picking just three finalists for each category which shows what a vibrant and innovative place Hull is to be at the moment with a very buoyant digital sector.”

Winners of the KCOM-sponsored awards will be revealed on Thursday, 20 September, at what promises to be an unforgettable night at the city’s new Bonus Arena.
