They shoot, they score double as KCOM Kits returns with Hull City

KCOM is hoping for a goal bonanza as Hull City gets ready for the return of the football season

The long-awaited Championship restart will take place tomorrow, after being delayed by the coronavirus pandemic, as Hull City hopes for a barnstorming finish to their season.

The return of football also means a return for the KCOM Kits initiative, where every home league goal scored by the Tigers means another full Umbro team strip donated to a local youth football club.

And to make football’s return even more exciting, KCOM has pledged to double its donation and add  an extra strip to the giveaway for every Tigers goal scored during the team’s last four home matches.

Sean Royce, managing director of KCOM Retail said: “I’m absolutely delighted that the Championship season is restarting after what feels like a football-free eternity.

“We’re now fully behind the Tigers to score their way to safety to secure Championship football for next season. To add to the feelgood factor and to put a spring in the step of every football fan across the region we thought what better than to double the number of strips we are donating to local grassroots football clubs for the rest of the season.

“That means for every goal the Tigers score at the KCOM Stadium between now and the end of the season we will put two full team strips in the kitty – and two local youth teams will have a great, top quality new strip to start the new season in.

“As a huge Hull City fan myself I can’t wait to get started against Charlton on Saturday and to cheer on the Tigers all the way to victory. Let’s hope they score a few hattricks along the way.”

Hull broadband provider KCOM and Hull City were blown away by the success of the scheme when it was launched at the start of the season.

So far, more than 650 local youth football teams, representing more than 100 clubs, have applied for the chance to win a strip as part of the scheme.

The teams come from right across the region including Driffield, Hornsea, Withernsea and Goole, where KCOM Retail is now expanding its services to.

There are currently 29 team strips in the “kitty” ready to be donated at the end of the season which will increase as City try to score their way to Championship safety.

The winners of the kits, which include full home and away and keepers’ strips and gloves, will be chosen  at random at the end of the season.
