Apps to help you get spooky this Halloween

2

If you’re throwing a bash for the little ones or planning a get-together for the adults, here are a few apps and websites that might give you inspiration for some Instagram-worthy decorations or tasty treats.

Buzzfeed Tasty

A staple of Facebook feeds across the world, the Buzzfeed Tasty app is filled with exciting and mouthwatering recipes that are perfect for making when you’ve got company. The search feature lets you find exactly the kind of snacks you’re looking for, and there are plenty of ideas for party food you can whip up whether it’s Halloween-themed or not.

You can even share the recipes with friends, so when you’re mobbed with people asking how you made that haunted house cake, you can simply drop them the instructions in a message.

Download Buzzfeed Tasty on the App Store and the Play Store.

Pinterest

This online pin board is perfect for gathering inspiration on how to decorate your house and yourself for the ghostly holiday. You can put together as many separate boards as you want, filling them with photos of handmade decorations, outfit ideas and cute treats you and the kids can bake for guests, like witchy cupcakes and marshmallow ghosts.

You can also browse other people’s Halloween boards if you don’t have time to make your own, and share everything with friends who might be throwing their own parties or helping you to plan yours.

You can download Pinterest on the App Store and the Play Store.

Spotify

No party is complete without the perfect soundtrack, and Halloween is no exception. With Spotify, you can use the search feature to browse a wide selection of premade Halloween playlists, filled with everything from classic horror soundtracks to The Monster Mash.

If you’re creating your own playlist, try making it collaborative, meaning you can share the link with other party guests who can add their chosen tunes onto it from their phones.

Spotify is available on the App Store and the Play Store.

Halloween City

There’s a ton of Halloween-themed apps out there to keep your little monsters busy whilst you get on with the physical bits of putting together a party, and this one is one of the best.

Build your very own Halloween City, populated with all of your favourite spooky houses, monsters and accessories. Look after your creepy crew and collect coins to level up while you explore ghost lairs and dark corners. Experiment with cross-breeding your monsters to create a whacky Halloween army – then teach it how to fight!

You can get Halloween City on the App Store and the Play Store.
