Late content creator to be honoured in eSports Hall of Fame

John "Totalbiscuit" Bain will be inducted into the eSports Hall of Fame at ESL One Hamburg this month.

The Dota 2 tournament, taking place this weekend, will recognise the prominent British content creator, who sadly passed away in May after a battle with cancer. John will be the first ever non-player added to ESL's eSports Hall of Fame, joining the ranks of gaming legends Kyle "Ksharp" Miller, Dennis "Thresh" Thong, Emil "HeatoN" Christensen and Ola "elemeNt" Moum.

Totalbiscuit helped cover many competitive games over the years, such as Dota 2, Hearthstone, StarCraft and Smite, among others. He was also a StarCraft II caster, produced a WoW Radio and Azeroth Daily series, and had his own pro eSports team known as Axiom.

UK streamer Gross Gore banned by Twitch again

Controversial UK League of Legends streamer Ali "Gross Gore" Larsen has been banned by Twitch once again due to his behaviour at Runefest earlier this month.

The streamer received a temporary 30-day ban from the service and has also been banned from attending Twitchcon, which takes place in San Jose this weekend. The news comes after Gross Gore caused some discomfort with his actions at Runefest earlier this month, being accused of harassing women attending the event and also getting into a physical altercation with another streamer.

Gross Gore was originally banned by Twitch back in April 2016 after making some severe allegations against former League of Legends streamer Mitch "Krepo" Voorspoels, but was later unbanned by Twitch in May 2017 after he promised he would leave the drama behind.

UK to hold first eSports parliamentary event

UK games industry trade body Ukie has teamed up with the APPG and Intel to host the world’s first-ever British eSports parliamentary event, taking place early next week at the Palace of Westminster.

A selection of eSports personalities, brands, educators and business leaders will band together to educate attendees on the country’s current booming eSports industry. Global tournament organiser ESL and the British Esports Association will both have booths at the event for attendees to check out.

Senior members of parliament, ministers, civil servants and other policymakers are expected to attend, with some due to speak at the gathering.
