It's no secret that we Brits love a loyalty scheme. We've rounded up some of the best schemes available at the moment to store on your phone and help you save a bit of money on treats, from a morning coffee to a discount on your weekly shop.

Nectar

Nectar is one of the biggest customer loyalty programmes available at the moment. Launched in 2002, Nectar merged existing loyalty schemes from Sainsbury’s, Barclaycard and Debenhams, making it easier to rack up a lot of points in one place instead of spreading them out across stores.

Signing up to Nectar is completely free. Once a member, customers are given a card that they can collect points on every time they spend money at a participating retailer. There's a wide variety of companies involved in this scheme, such as eBay, ASOS, Easyjet and Argos.

Once your points have built up, they can then be redeemed against a variety of things such as meals at your favourite restaurant or money off your weekly shop.

For more information on how to apply for a Nectar card or a full list of the brands that participate in the scheme, visit www.nectar.com and download the app.

Starbucks Rewards

If you're a sucker for a fancy coffee in the morning, you definitely need the Starbucks app on your phone. Every time you use it when buying something at a participating store, you’ll earn yourself a Star.

Stars add up to earn you exclusive Starbucks rewards, such as free drinks and special offers. You can even get early access to their new products, as well as the ability to order and pay for your purchases via the app itself, making your trip quick and easy.

To start earning rewards, all you need to do is download the app and set up an account using a Starbucks card, which you can pick up in-store. Once your account is created you can keep track of how many Stars you’ve collected.

Starbucks will send you an email once you've earned enough Stars to collect a reward.

Swagbucks

Though Swagbucks isn't necessarily a loyalty scheme, it does offer users reward points for doing basic tasks online such as searching the web, watching short videos and completing surveys.

Every time you complete a survey or equivalent, you will earn Swagbucks points, which can then be redeemed for gift cards or cash. The gift cards you can choose from come from over 1,500 retailers, including Amazon, Starbucks, Argos, M&S and iTunes.

If you’d rather make some money than receive a gift card, there’s also an option to convert your Swagbucks points to cash that will go straight into your PayPal account. If you're feeling generous, you can choose to donate this cash to a charity of your choosing instead.

The Swagbucks app can be downloaded from the app store free of charge.
