Useful websites and apps for bloggers

2

Whether you’re into posting about the latest makeup releases, reviewing the hottest new games on the market or sharing your thoughts on being a parent, one thing all bloggers have in common is making sure your content is visually appealing and well organized.

To help you on your blogging journey, we’ve rounded up some of the best apps available to make sure your online diaries are shipshape.

Hootsuite

When you’re trying to build up followers for your blog, it’s important to make sure you keep up to date with your social media profiles too, so everyone knows what content you’re putting out. However, making sure you’re posting regularly on all of your profiles can be tricky, especially when you’ve got other jobs and your social life to contend with.

That’s where Hootsuite comes in. With this handy tool you’re able to schedule posts ahead of time, ensuring that your followers get content that they’ll love without you having to whip out your phone every five minutes to snap a photo of your latest clothing haul or some snazzy street graffiti.

Hootsuite works across a variety of sites, such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, and all you need to do is upload your content and set the date and time you want it to be posted. Simple!

Pinterest

Pinterest is a great app to have handy when you need some inspiration. Once you’ve set up an account, you can create boards that work sort of like an online scrapbook.

Simply type in what you’re looking for in the search bar and you’ll discover dozens of photo posts from other users, such as cute office setups or fancy bullet journal layouts that you can save and come back to later when you’re thinking about new ideas for how to present your work.

You’re also able to save other people’s blog posts to your boards, allowing you to compile lists of posts that inspire you or formats that you’d like to try out yourself.

Evernote

It’s far too easy to think of a brilliant idea for a blog post when you’re out and about and then completely forget about it by the time you get home to your laptop. With Evernote, you’re able to jot down your ideas as soon as you conjure them up, ensuring that they won’t get lost in the depths of your brain.

Evernote has a ton of useful features for storing information, such as the ability to add photo and audio posts to your notes, and even scanning handwritten ones to make typing them up later much easier.

You can also create checklists and to-do lists, allowing you to easily see exactly what you need to do to complete your blog posts as you’re working on them.

VSCO

A true blog post wouldn’t be complete without an eye-catching photo or two thrown in.

VSCO enables you to easily edit pictures on the go, ensuring that they always look their best. With a whole variety of filters and tools to choose from, you can guarantee the photos you take of your makeup swatches, delicious meal or sports event will get people commenting in no time.
