What to watch on Now TV

2

There’s plenty to be watching on Now TV this May, from chick flicks to futuristic thrillers.

With two bank holidays this month and a high chance of rain, we’ve rounded up the top films and box sets to be binging on this spring.

Westworld

Based on the 1973 film of the same name, Westworld is an American science fiction thriller TV series that revolves around a technologically-advanced Wild West amusement park populated by android hosts.

The park is designed to indulge the fantasies of its high-paying guests, but all turns sour when the robots start to remember what is being done to them.

A gripping series and a must-watch this May, as the first instalment is only available until June. The second series is now being aired weekly on the streaming service.

Dexter

A favourite of many, Dexter is a crime drama that originally aired in 2006. The fascinating show narrates the double life of a forensic technician who is also a vigilante serial killer. In a sick twist of justice, Dexter hunts down murderers who haven’t been punished by the system.

The gruesome yet entertaining programme is an excellent way to kill some time… so to speak.

Britannia

Kelly Reilly, David Morrissey and Zoë Wanamaker star in Britannia, a historical fantasy produced by Sky Atlantic that follows the Roman conquest of Britain.

This nine-part series promises anarchy, power and magical forces from the underworld as the Roman army returns to crush the Celtic heart of the country.

Grey’s Anatomy

Already loved by much of the population, the 14 seasons of Grey’s Anatomy need to be on your watch list this May.

The long-serving programme centres around the lives of surgical interns, residents and physicians as they train to be fully-fledged doctors.

Twin Peaks: The Return

Fans have gone bonkers for the recent revival of Twin Peaks. First airing in the early 90s, it’s a compelling mystery horror series that quickly gained a cult following, despite the show being cancelled after its second season.

In 2017, the programme returned with a whole host of new intriguing storylines set 25 years after the events of the season 2 finale.

Girls Trip

If you have a girls’ (or boys’) night in planned soon, Girls Trip is a perfect choice. Starring Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Tiffany Haddish and Jada Pinkett Smith, the laugh-a-minute flick accompanies four best friends as they embark on a work outing.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

An iconic 80s film, Ferris Bueller's Day Off is a brilliant way to reminisce about the good old days. If you’ve not seen this famous flick before, it follows the charming Ferris, a teenage boy who fakes his own sickness in order to avoid classes.

His best buddy and girlfriend join him on his travels as they borrow a parent’s car, explore Chicago, head out for dinner and even join in a parade float.
