Hull City first ever match at Craven Park to be streamed live on Facebook

Hull City’s first ever match at the KCOM Craven Park stadium is to be broadcast live online.

The pre-season friendly, against French side FC Nantes, will take place on Tuesday, July 25, as the Tigers continue preparations for the start of their Championship campaign.

The match, which will be broadcast live on KCOM’s Facebook page, is the first time Hull City’s first team have played at the east Hull stadium – traditionally the home of Hull KR.

The match should prove a major talking point for fans as they asses the prospects of Leonid Slutsky’s team in the months ahead.

Joe Clutterbrook, Hull City commercial manager, said: “We’re really happy to be working with KCOM to provide live streaming for our match against FC Nantes.

“As the new season fast approaches I’m sure there will be a lot of interest in this fixture and it’s great that we are able to give fans an opportunity to watch the game, even if they can’t make it to KCOM Craven Park on the night.

“We also have plans in place to deliver lots more content in partnership with KCOM throughout the 2017/18 season which will hopefully give a unique behind-the-scenes insight into the club.”

As well as being the Russian manager’s first home town game, it may also be the second debut for striker Fraizer Campbell who starred at the KCOM Stadium in the 2007/2008 season when he helped the team secure promotion to the Premier League while on loan from Manchester United.

The Tigers will be taking on a Nantes team led by a manager who is no stranger to English football in the form of Claudio Ranieri. The former Leicester City manager won huge accolades by leading the Foxes to the Premier League title last year.

Tuesday’s match will kick off at 7.30pm with coverage starting from 7.15pm.

The coverage, filmed by Hull company Eon Visual Media, will include panoramic views of the KCOM Craven Park pitch, two camera angles, action replays, scoreboard graphics and half-time statistics.

Cathy Phillips, KCOM chief marketing officer, said: “We’re delighted to be teaming up with Hull City ahead of the new season for what will be an historic game at KCOM Craven Park.

“It’s great that KCOM can be there to live stream Leonid Slutsky’s first home town game for Hull and give everyone at home the chance to see his new team in action online.”
